Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

To support the Mechanical Engineering team in support of design and engineering work done for Nuclear industries. The candidate will work under the supervision of the client’s lead engineer to support small to medium projects within Mechanical Engineering and work well with the customer and the rest of the project team. The candidate can be based out of Markham, ON, however must be able and willing to work in Kincardine as required (Bruce Power Site). Preference given to local candidates from the Kincardine area.
Self-motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems, show effective team leadership and communication skills will be ideally suitable for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of technical specifications, data sheets for mechanical equipment and piping.
  • Ability to liaise with the supplier in the purchase of equipment.
  • Review shop drawings and attend inspection as required.
  • Perform technical evaluations leading to a recommendation and ultimate purchase of the equipment.
  • Familiar with applicable codes and standards, perform calculations.
  • Prepare project scope of work, planning and support RFQ’s (Requests For Quotation)
  • Work within time constraints.
  • Preparation of Scope of Work Documentation.
  • Work well with outside contractors, consultants, and trades.
  • Follow Bruce Power Nuclear quality programs and protocols.
