SD Avionics is a division of Satcom Direct located in Kanata, the high-tech hub of Ottawa, Ontario. Our second largest site globally, this location manufactures avionics hardware, cabin routers, and the SD Plane Simple Antenna System.

JOB SUMMARY:

Ensure compliance to Satcom Direct’s Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures, Health and Safety policies, Ministry Of Labor and Transport Canada regulations and requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering or science discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, resourceful, able to work independently and a team player.
• Experience in Quality Engineering roles is an asset.
• Experience in writing macros in MS Excel, programming skills is an asset.

• Ensure compliance to Satcom Direct’s Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures, Health and Safety policies, Ministry Of Labor and Transport Canada regulations and requirements.
• Support the company’s QMS activities: participate in internal and external audit, support corrective actions response (CAR), and initiate continual improvement activities.
• Work with internal and external team to improve product quality, including but not limited to the following:
• First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)
• Effective Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA)
• Provide input to Supplier Scorecard review.
• Support periodic supplier assessment and audits.
• Participate in MRB and Corrective Actions Board meeting.
• Support data science activities for Quality department, such as Power BI, Confluence and Jira dashboard.
• Support environmental compliance initiatives: gathering product compliance data, review and update compliance database.
• Support other activities as assigned by the Director of Quality.
