Description:

Job Title
Junior R&D Test Engineer (Emulation, physical & SW test automation)
Job Description
Vanderlande is the global market leader for future-proof logistic process automation at airports and in the parcel market. Furthermore, we are also a leading supplier of process automation solutions for warehouses, which seamlessly integrate innovative systems, intelligent software and life-cycle services.
At Vanderlande, you can develop your career, satisfy your ambitions, aspire to new heights, while enjoying personal growth and thriving on achievement.
Are you ready to join the world of automated material handling solutions? And are you the multidisciplinary engineer we are looking for, who can guarantee the quality and functionality of our products deployed in a dynamic, international and market-leading environment? If yes, we are looking forward to meet you and welcome you to be part of our vision to be the worldwide leader in sustainable automated logistic solutions!
Your Role
We are looking for a Junior R&D Test Engineer who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team, in a supporting and hands-on role. You will be responsible for maintaining the emulation rooms and you’ll learn the processes that we have in place to prepare and test our SW control solutions. Together with your team you are responsible for this infrastructure to test our technical solutions. You will grow from this hands-on role into a full SW and partly HW related test engineer.
Your Department
You will be working in the Loopsorter System Team which is part of our Technology department (former Research and Development). This team consists of approximately 10 multidisciplinary engineers and enables the development teams by creating and maintaining the right tools and solutions. For example our CICD pipeline (which contains the SW build environments) and our test automation environment (including our test broker, emulation models and emulation systems). The System Team is a high performing team organized in an agile way. We maintain and improve our current products and develop new solutions by working closely with engineering, supply chain and service, all driven by our customer needs. We have a large installed base of emulation stations on which we can emulate our customer systems, next to physical test systems in our modern Innovation Center to be able to test our sorter control SW & HW implementations.
Your responsibilities
As a Junior R&D Test Engineer, you are responsible for the preparation and maintenance of our test related tooling, verifying and validating Loopsorter control Software solutions. Our Crossorter and Helixorter solutions are used all over the world in Vanderlande’s market segment Warehouses and Airports. You will be challenged technically and be responsible to build and execute a (risk based) test strategy so you can guarantee good quality and functionality.

Next to that we expect you to have a hands-on mentality, literally taking care of maintenance activities within our emulation rooms and Innovation Center.

  • You deliver input for test plans, based on the relevant product criteria, the client application and the requirements applicable,
  • You will implement these test plans on actual system in our testing facilities and able to analyze test results to identify improvements and/or root causes,
  • You will identify and mitigate technical risks and document the risks, problems, progress and status of test execution,
  • Supporting mechanical, hardware and system design, OT software development , integration of components and system verification,
  • Support and execute component and system testing,
  • Understanding, interpreting and following procedures and standards.

Your qualifications and skills

  • You have a technical (multidisciplinary background is a plus) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or HBO thinking level.
  • You have knowledge and affinity – or even a proven track record – with (SW & HW) testing,
  • You are familiar with test plans and risk analyses to propose improvements on a tactical level,
  • ISTQB Foundation or comparable certified (considered a plus) or you are willing to learn ISTQB,
  • You must have an affinity with software, hardware (computers) and networks. Knowledge of programming languages like Powershell and/or C# is a plus,
  • You are a team player and like to support your colleagues on their developments,
  • Able to speak and document in the English language.
  • You are a smart self-starter with a hands-on, flexible mindset and pro-active spirit,
  • You are curious by nature, keen on learning and bettering, and are a excited to learn about our products
  • You have a continuous improvement focus and attitude.

What we offer
In this challenging and responsible position, you will have the chance to make a significant contribution to industry-leading projects and be connected to our dedicated people and customers. We offer a position in an informal, international and professional working environment with a lot of scope for personal development. By joining our profitable and growing company you will be able to reach your goals and focus on your future.
This position offers a competitive salary range of € 3602, 62 to € 4900 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.

On top of your fixed salary you’ll receive the following secondary benefits:
