Description:

Overview:
We are looking for a Junior Sales Estimator to handle the estimates, proposals, and negotiations for sprinkler installations projects covering the state of New Jersey. Don’t know anything about sprinklers systems? That’s OK. Prior fire protection experience helps, but it is not a prerequisite for this position. Encore is an industry leading, full service fire protection company serving all of Northeast from offices in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, and New Jersey. At Encore, we believe that the key to success is our diverse and talented team of employees.
As part of Encore’s mission to be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen, we have joined forces with City Fire Equipment Co. based out of East Hanover, New Jersey. This partnership not only allows us to expand our footprint and find top talent in the NJ area, it also allows us to work with industry leaders who strive for same level of excellence as we do.
This person must be a proven team-player that can equally work on his/her own. They have the confidence in details and small intricacies but the ability to also see the bigger picture. They are extremely organized and have notable time management skills to make them thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
This is not your typical sales role. And you will be expected to spend time in the office working with internal resources to accurately develop proposals and communicate with customers (on the phone and over email), but the similarities end there.

SKILLS:

While proficiency in some of these skills is not an immediate requirement, we anticipate your dedication to developing and honing them over time:

  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and codes/regulations related to fire safety.
  • Quantitative Analysis: Ability to analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to accurately estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimating project costs and preparing bids and proposals.
  • Knowledge of Codes and Standards: Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards governing fire protection systems.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets for cost analysis, bid preparation, and documentation.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Formal sales experience that extends beyond retail or hospitality. Experience selling a service (as opposed to a tangible product) is a plus
  • Proven ability to analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to accurately estimate materials, labor, equipment, permits, and overhead costs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of contract terms and pricing
  • Must be able to work at heights and lift at least 50lbs.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with willingness to travel to job sites throughout the state

Responsibilities:

  • Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role
  • Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder)
  • We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren’t afraid to ask), you’ll be all set!
  • Speaking of attire, we offer all employees Encore gear when they join the team
  • Freedom to express ideas - a culture of willingness to test, try, modify, adopt, enhance, improve and change as needed
  • Access to leading edge web-based productivity tools
  • Participation in Fidelity 401(K) that includes employer match
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits through Blue Cross
  • Company-paid life insurance policy of $50,00
