We have recently expanded our critical care unit and would welcome candidates who are patient focused, dynamic, resilient, passionate, proactive and project driven. If this is you, do not hesitate any longer.
The post holder will be an identifiable senior clinical staff member, and team leader. They will have significant clinical experience, provide sound clinical expertise to their team, and coordinate and deliver high quality care. They will be a role model for expert clinical care, and lead on specific research projects / management functions as delegated by the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse or Head of Nursing in addition the post holder will lead on research projects working across theatres, anaesthetics and critical care as directed by the R+D manager and or critical care consultant. This post is split between working clinically in critical care (0.4 WTE) as well as leading on research projects (0.6 WTE)

Our Critical Care Unit is a 22 bed combined ITU/HDU that admits both elective and emergency patients. Our new unit opened in December 2023
Candidates will need significant experience in Critical care. You will be expected to take a leading role in research projects relating to critical care. Excellent communication skills are essential in this role. when working your clinical you will be expected to manage and lead a designated area and duptise for the senior sisters/charge nurses as needed.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high standards of patient care, providing supervision and leadership to junior staff with a diverse range of experience and skills. You will be a strong and effective nurse, be able to ensure a smooth patient journey through Critical Care and into the wider Trust.
There will be opportunities to take part on relevant courses and personal development – including team days and study days. You will be supported by the education team from the beginning and throughout your on-going professional development.
