YOUR DAY TO DAY:

As the Software Development Engineer In Testing – InternetofThings (IoT) IT is responsible for the development of testing of various IoT projects. As such, this is a critical role in terms of customer perception and will directly impact the success/reputation of Vodafone’s IoT product offering and its ability to achieve the forecasted revenue targets. The role holder will work with the product and architect team to deliver customer quality software products.

WITH THESE SKILLS YOU ARE A GREAT CANDIDATE:

• Industry experience with Software Platforms in Linux, on-premises and cloud
• Solid understanding of server technologies
• Strong academic knowledge and professional experience of software development: Java Enterprise, Oracle, Linux, HTML5/JavaScript
• Exposure to Behaviour Driven Development and experience in programming and testing
• Good understanding of system monitoring tools and automated testing frameworks
• Knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools
• Excellent designing and programming skills
• Good understanding of Databases – Oracle, MongoDB, ElasticSearch.
• Good understanding of java frameworks, SpringBoot, Spring technologies
• Good understanding of container systems (docker) and orchestrators (docker compose, Kubernetes)
• Good understanding of messaging technologies, kafka, rabbitmq
• Good understanding of Unix shell, Perl, python to perform automation and maintenance tasks
• Good understanding of CI/CD environments
• Educated to BSc degree level in telecommunications or related discipline with Software Development experience
• A passion for testing, development, and design
• Big picture oriented, end-to-end and concept to-operations thinker
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to adjust own style to suit audience and achieve objectives
• Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), second language an advantage
