We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Junior Technician to join our Discovery site located in Beerse. The candidate will work in in vivo laboratories under supervision of a scientist. This position is limited to 6 months.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field;
  • Experience working with laboratory mice and/or hamsters is preferred;
  • Hands-on experience with handling ex vivo samples is a plus;
  • Flexible mindset and ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain communication across functional groups;
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in vivo studies (infection, blood collection, dosing, weighing of animals, …) in a BSL3 lab with rodents (specifically hamsters and mice);
  • Handling of ex vivo samples;
  • Communicate obtained results internally and with client teams via email or in meetings;
  • Demonstrate ownership of own tasks to meet required deliverables;
  • Report obtained data in electronic lab book and client databases to departmental and patent-acceptable quality standards;
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment.
