About our Prague Office
Almost 100 Ortho employees are supporting the following functions within EMEA Shared Services: Customer Service and Finance team, People & Culture and IT team. We are located on Anděl, an attractive part of Prague, very close to the city center. The modern newly renovated building creates a flexible environment that contributes to employee work-life balance. Due to current Covid restrictions full week of work from home is recommended.
Your New Role:
VAT team has currently two members and we are looking for an additional member to support our team. VAT team prepares monthly 30 VAT returns, 13 Intrastats and number of additional country specific reports. VAT Specialist should have a practical knowledge of VAT returns preparation and general accounting. In the role it is expected to learn basic processes around reports preparation and take step by step ownership for complete reporting of certain countries.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparation of VAT, Intrastat, EC sales, SII and other country
specific reports for selected countries across the EMEA Region
- Your customers will be local European finance teams. Timely and accurate communication is expected. Includes strict keeping of deadlines, follow up on open items, keeping work status up to date
- Data manipulation – you will use mainly MS Excel to process
reports. Other work applications include SAP, Ariba and various
internet platforms
- Compliance – maintenance of process documentation - work
instructions, SAP/Ariba setup, basic master data
- Participation on ad hoc projects, IT support and other
administrative tasks
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounting/VAT preparation
- Good knowledge of MS Excel
- Fluent in written and spoken English, any other European language is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
- Attention to detail
- Experience working in a multicultural environment or SSC preferred
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
