Description:
DESCRIPTION
The Union County Probate and Juvenile Judge is now hiring a full-time Deputy Clerk to provide clerical support for Juvenile Court operations and functions. This position works under the direction of the Chief Deputy Clerk, and primary work duties include the following: prepares docket or calendar of cases to be called; examines legal documents submitted to court for adherence to court procedures, prepares case folders and files or routes documents; coordinates schedules between Probate Court staff and other agencies (e.g. judges, magistrates, attorneys, sheriff’s office, child support agency, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of secondary education or equivalent and one (1) years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
For purposes of 42 USC 12101:
(1) Coordinate hearing schedules between magistrates, judges, attorneys, child support agency, and sheriff’s office; perform case management (e.g. schedule hearings, set up file, preparing hearing paperwork, sending out summons to parties, calculate court costs, etc.); update and enter case information in accordance with departmental policies and procedures; respond to routine inquiries from the public and officials; perform routine clerical tasks (e.g. time stamping filings, retrieve/send faxes, make copies, etc.); answer and direct incoming phone calls.
(2) Bailiff Court hearings; balance cash drawer; prepare bank deposits
(3) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
(4) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(5) Performs other related duties as assigned.
(6) Attends staff meetings as assigned.
