QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience, ideally within an independent school setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with learning differences and a diverse student body.
  • A familiarity with Google Suite and educational technology platforms.
  • A continuous learner eager to engage in professional development, especially in pedagogical practice and DEI.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a dedicated Learning Specialist who believes in making education accessible and engaging for every student, particularly those with identified learning differences. This role is pivotal in supporting students, teachers, and families, ensuring all learners have the tools and support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Individualized Support: Work closely with students across various settings to address academic and social-emotional needs, tailoring your approach to each student’s unique profile.
  • Collaborative Planning: Lead the development and implementation of Student Support and Learning Plans in partnership with the Instructional Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with educational goals.
  • Family and External Practitioner Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for families and external practitioners, facilitating a collaborative approach to support students with learning differences.
  • Teaching and Learning: Design and deliver instruction that is developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and maximizes student engagement and learning.
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in school events, committees, and professional development, contributing to the vibrant life of our school community.
