NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO | SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Has proven experience in leading a team to achieve equity Māori health gain as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and supporting tangata whenua to deliver mana motuhake and Māori self-determination
  • Minimum 10 years in Māori health and needs to draw on extensive specialised work experience, likely supported with professional qualifications
  • Extensive experience in research/evaluation techniques, practices and principles.
  • Experience in relevant analytical tools such as SQL, R or Python, R-Shiny, and PowerBI preferred
  • Experience in leading critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice
  • Understanding of kawa and tikanga and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi & some experience working in partnership with iwi & Māori communities
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, the specific relationship under te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Te Whatu Ora’s role in improving outcomes for iwi and Māori communities
  • A degree level qualification in an area relevant to to mātauranga Māori and/or Māori public health, statistics, data management, data analytics or comparable experience working at a management level
