This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Job Purpose and Impact
Cargill’s European protein business is a leading supplier and innovator of further processed chicken products for retail, food service and food manufacturing customers. In the Key Account Manager position, you will play a key role in generating sales revenue and positive margins for the protein business.
The role will be involved in developing relationships with the largest Foodservice distributors in France and the Benelux, growing market share and developing products for these distributors. The role will require frequent travel within the region. Key Accountabilities
Identify the targeted region’s Food Service Distributors in France and the Benelux, develop commercial plans to win and grow these accounts, meeting budgeted growth and profitability Deepen relationship with customers through understanding their needs and identifying ways to enhance their business through Cargill’s value-added chicken product range. Provide sales forecasts and input into demand plans Work collaboratively with New Product Development and Marketing teams on new products and promotional activities supporting regional account growth Partner with Supply Chain and Customer Service teams to ensure the highest standards of customer service In collaboration with Marketing, develop and deliver promotional activities such as; trade shows, sample presentations, tastings and visits to customer locations Follow best practice methodology to successfully negotiate ‘win-win’ outcomes for Cargill and the customer Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications French language fluency or native speaker (required); business proficient in Dutch (preferred) Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience Minimum of four years of related work experience in sales or business development roles Experience managing, developing and growing relationships with major Benelux/France foodservice distributors Experience in the poultry industry (preferred) or protein industry - Other Food categories may be considered Experience and success in building lasting value-added relationships with customers, with the ability to present effectively and work cross functionally
