We are looking for Key Account Manager- Retail Battery Solutions (all genders) for our team!
The Key Account Manager (KAM) in the retail battery systems drives business growth by developing and managing key customer accounts. Responsible for identifying opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction, the KAM plays a crucial role in expanding A123 Systems’ presence and revenue within the energy management sector.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience selling or managing products and customers within the battery industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and supporting optimized sales and distribution models within the energy management industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Previous experience in energy systems or lithium-ion cells preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to make presentations to executive leadership.
  • Excellent English and German language skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience in commercial negotiation and contract negotiation.
  • Focused on delivering results with a demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, and win with customers.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
  • 30-50% travel required, including international travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities for sales and distribution of assigned products within the battery industry.
  • Prospect for new business and solicit new customers to expand the customer base.
  • Launch and execute strategies and programs to drive growth, supporting new product launches, and execute commercial negotiations.
  • Provide recommendations on competitive market trends, conditions, and opportunities to influence product, marketing plans, programs, and customer policies.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and communicate sales promotion campaigns tailored to the battery industry.
  • Lead optimization of distribution models for battery sales channels.
  • Identify and establish strategic relationships / partnerships within the battery market.
  • Develop specialized programs to acquire new business and improve existing business, focusing on pricing, inventory planning, billing, product line variation, warranty adjustments, and other commercial considerations.
  • Maintain frequent and regular contact with customer management, purchasing, engineering, and other relevant stakeholders to promote A123 Systems products and services.
  • Develop financial analysis to support competitive quotes and capture new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and negotiate quotations with customers, ensuring a win-win situation while maintaining required margins.
  • Develop sales forecasts, objectives, and roadmaps to exceed sales goals.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding order status, quality, warranty, service, and other issues by coordinating support from internal
