The successful applicant will join the Child, Youth and Family Services Department which is part of the Community Services Division. Monash Council CY&FS deliver programs that support the community from birth to 18 years of age.
About the Position
We are currently looking for an individual who can demonstrate initiative and collaborate effectively with various networks and resources, both within the organisation and externally. The primary objective of this important role is to engage vulnerable Cultural & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) families across the municipality to maximise attendance at kindergarten by CALD children to:
Support successful transition of children starting school (including support with enrolment)
Support increased kindergarten enrolments for three- and four-year-old CALD children (including support with enrolment) through promotion of Free Kinder initiative and Early Start Kindergarten for refugee and asylum seeker children
Skills and Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Community Development or a Social Services field
A Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment is desirable
Fluency in a language other than English would be advantageous
Demonstrated experience in working with children from a range of cultural backgrounds
Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding in supporting the planning and evaluating of inclusive early childhood programs
Experience in working in kindergarten/childcare centres
Requirements
Employee Working with Children’s Check
Satisfactory National Police Check; and
Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Community Development or a Social Services field
