Description:

Newcastle Anglican is seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant to work in our Catering facility at Boolaroo. This role supports our chefs and cooks in a production kitchen environment to provide our residents with exceptional meals covering the Central Coast to Mid North Coast.
This is a casual position available Monday to Friday only

Responsibilities:

Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen facilities.
Cleaning designated areas (all kitchen surfaces, floors, dishes, pots, pans) ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained within the guidelines of HACCP/Food Safety Program.
Assisting with food preparation tasks as required including organising the cool room, freezer and other storage areas, chopping vegetables, washing food, preparation of basic food items.
Being part of the production team that is committed to providing a quality and efficient food service to our Consumers.
Able to work without constant supervision to meet the high standard of food delivery service required by Anglican Care.
To communicate effectively with employees to ensure the goals and objectives of the position are met.

Work effectively as an individual and within a team.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of food safety programs
Demonstrated experience in large scale cook/chill application
