THE JOB ITSELF
An opportunity has arisen for a Kitchen Assistant based Worklink Cottingham.
Worklink are a team within the Directorate of Adults Specialist Services supporting Adults who have a Learning Disability or Autistic to obtain paid employment. Based at Worklink.
The Kitchen Assistant will work as part of an enthusiastic team of staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic and focused individual who has drive and energy.
You must be able to work collaboratively and have excellent communication skills. This role can be physically demanding, working 2 or 2.5 hours one day per week. Clearing tables, pot washing, cleaning areas in outside seating area this opportunity may be different people on different days working a few hours each.
You will ensure that on a day-to-day basis the service is operated in a safe and effective manner and implement and adhere to all service procedures, including Health and Safety procedures. All other relevant training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working with adults with a learning disability and in a kitchen environment.
Candidates should have the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure that we are working to a high standard.
You will:
- Be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach
- Have experience of working in a kitchen environment
- Be able to communicate well and develop rapport with people
- Have an understanding of issues affecting vulnerable people
- Be able to respond positively to changing needs of clients and service
