Description:

Based out of Porter Creek Secondary School, the Kitchen Assistant under the direction of the Food Services Teacher, assists in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient operations of the school cafeteria. This role requires maintaining cleanliness and performing food service tasks in a professional kitchen equipped with various operating machines, catering to a full-service cafeteria serving 700 people daily. The Kitchen assistant engages with students and collaborates with a team of approximately four staff members. The ideal candidate for this role is collaborative, flexible, and is able to adapt to various environments and tasks within the setting of a busy school cafeteria.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a high-volume commercial or institutional food service setting including restaurants, coffee shops, etc.
  • Experience performing cleaning duties in a school or large multi-use buildings.
  • Experience working with Youth would be considered an asset.
    Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
