Description:

Northamptonshire Healthcare and Northampton General Hospital are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the role of Knowledge and Library Services Manager (LSM). This is a great opportunity to shape services for community, mental health, and acute staff, ensuring knowledge and evidence is available and accessible to support clinical practice, management, education, research, continuing professional development and all decision making across the organisations we serve.
You will be responsible for all library provision within the two trusts we service but you won’t be alone. You will have the support of an experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly team of library staff working in an outstanding trust that recognises the value of what the service offers.
You will work in collaboration with partners and key stakeholders in identifying their information and knowledge needs and in developing the strategic agenda for library services.
Working with the Assistant Director of Professional Education and Training, the LSM provides leadership, strategic direction, operational and resource management for the delivery of Knowledge and Library Services across our library sites and beyond.
Your responsibilities will include staff and financial management, strategic service development, information skills training, lending, enquiry/searching services, copyright and the marketing and promotion of the library service.
You will act as the main link between NHS England and the trusts in relation to library provision including participating in LSM Regional Meetings, completing the Library Quality and Improvement Outcomes Framework and monitoring and recording progress against the Improvement Plan.

ABOUT YOU:

First degree or postgraduate qualification in Librarianship or Information Science.
Significant experience of working in a healthcare library environment.
Proactive and forward thinking, and able to prioritise and work autonomously (sometimes to tight deadlines).
The ability to motivate and lead, with a consultative management style.
Customer focussed, with excellent communication skills.
Able to identify opportunities for embedding library service provision further into the organisations served, whilst seeking opportunities to widen both the services offered and the organisations served.
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
