The International School of Vantaa is a multicultural comprehensive school with over 600 students. The school provides English-language instruction for grades 1 - 9. The students’ home language is English or they have acquired a good English proficiency by other means. The students are admitted to the school based on a language test. The teachers and class assistants employed at our school come from various nationalities. Our curricula are based on the Finnish National Core Curriculum for Basic Education. Our goal is to raise well-behaving students with versatile general knowledge who can function in English in a global environment.
Our school is situated in the Aviapolis area, on the premises of the Point - Pakkala Learning and Information Centre, in Kartanonkoski. The school shares the building with a city library and English-language day-care center. Aviapolis is the fastest growing business and residential area in the metropolitan area as well as an expanding center of international trade.
Get acquainted to the school
The International School of Vantaa is looking for a permanent classroom assistant (koulunkäynninohjaaja). The classroom assistant work will consist of working in both Primary education (grades 1-5) or Junior high (grades 6-9), depending on the need. The Classroom assistants at International School of Vantaa work also a few hours per week in the Afternoon Club guiding students after school hours. During the school holidays, the classroom assistant position holder will work full time in holiday activities for disabled children.
The classroom assistant supports children’s learning, growth and overall well-being in their daily work. We value a person who is cooperative and committed to working with children of basic education age. We value excellent social skills and ability to interact with different kinds of learners. Ability to work in a multi-professional working environment with teachers and other educational professionals is a requirement.
We also expect that the classroom assistant position holder supports and assists children with required medical needs (e.g diabetic children) according to the student’s individual plan.
