PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in designing and developing solutions on Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of K8s architecture, design and internals including CRI, CNI and CSI.
• Experience in upstreaming and working with open-source community in CNCF.
• Background in development of code to enhance K8s for hardware specific feature enhancements.
• Must have Go Lang, Python
• Deep knowledge of x86, platform and I/O virtualization technologies
• Effective communication
• Strong team and community collaboration
• Knowledge of micro VMs, Platform IOMMU, PCIe, is a plus.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

We are seeking an exceptional Kubernetes (K8S) Developer with specialized expertise in scheduler performance optimization. As a key contributor to our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing Kubelet to fully leverage chip-let architecture for containerized workloads. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping the manageability and scalability of workloads deployed on K8S heterogenous and homogenous HW clusters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• AMD EPYC CPU topology Integration:

Design, develop, and validate K8S features that are aware of EPYC chip-let architecture for optimal resource allocation. This will involve strong collaborate with core Cloud Native, Hardware, and Performance team members to understand behavior of various cloud native workloads on AMD EPYC processors.

• Performance Tuning:

Conduct performance analysis, identify the bottlenecks, and optimize platform resources for various Quality of Service pod profiles. Fine-tune settings to align for optimal pod scheduling.

• HW Security Integration:

Design, develop, and validate K8S features that are aware of platform features such as AMD SME/SEV/SNP/SEV-TIO, ISA, and Accelerators.
