We are looking for an expert PHY Systems Engineer with deep understanding of wireless technology for our L1/PHY control system engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for the integration of new features to our 4G/5G modem architecture. Under consideration of the cellular communication standards, timing requirements and hardware constraints you will specify the L1 and PHY control concepts. You will define requirements for the FW implementation, interfaces, use-cases and end-to-end message flows. You will support FW teams during implementation and the verification teams with testing and log analysis.

DESCRIPTION

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Analyse 3GPP requirements for new features and map them to the modem architecture. - Break down new features into blocks depending on the timing and hardware requirements and define interfaces between them. - Define usecases and create end-to-end message flows. - Work closely together with cross functional teams (SE, RF, HW, FW) to make sure the concept fits into the system and firmware architecture. - Define test cases to support the verification process with log analysis and debugging

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep knowledge of digital signal processing and wireless communication.
  • Experience with L1 / PHY control and PHY signal processing for cellular industry standard (5G NR and LTE).
  • In-depth knowledge of use-case and interface definition in UML.
  • Strong knowledge of 3GPP cellular communication standards about RRC, MAC and PHY for LTE and 5G NR.
  • Experience with Matlab, C++ and JavaScript or Python programming.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (debugging and fixing of defects).Ability to work in a team and excellent communication skills (English language skills required).

MS in Computer Science or Electrical/Information Engineering with seasoned years of working experience or PhD in relevant field with relevant years of working experience.
