Position Summary:
This part time position is to conduct powder XRD (X-ray diffraction) measurements on composite carbonaceous powders and to assist in the development of an optimal carbonization process for the graphitization of said powders using a conventional tube furnace.

Specific tasks include:

• Preparation of powder samples for XRD analysis (XRD).
• Analysis of produced XRD data.
• Receive training on the operation of NANOQAM Thermo Scientific Lindberg/Blue Mini-Mite horizontal furnace system.
• Operation of NANOQAM Thermo Scientific Lindberg/Blue Mini-Mite horizontal furnace system.
• Preparation of final report to summarize results and methods.
