The mission of Cellistic/ Ncardia Belgium is to understand human iPSC and developmental biology and harness this knowledge to develop and manufacture iPSC therapeutics that significantly improve patient outcomes. We are convinced that pluripotent stem cell technology is the key to getting better, more efficient treatments to patients faster. Within our R&D team in Mont St. Guibert (Belgium) there is a position immediately available for a Lab Manager. The selected candidate will report to the MSAT Director. We are an enthusiastic, skilled, and committed international team in which everyone has the opportunity to make a decisive contribution.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (applied) biological science or related domains, with 3-5 years of experience in industry
  • Practical experience in cell culture (e.g., maintenance of cell lines, cell counting, media preparation, and aseptic techniques)
  • Experience with stem cells or immune cells is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Well-organized, precise, and reliable
  • Understanding of good documentation practices
  • Highly motivated, proactive, creative
  • Willing to work during weekends
  • Good communicator and team-player
  • Affinity with GMP quality systems
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure laboratories are fully operational via regular restocking of common consumables and raw materials
  • Oversee common consumable stocks and manage orders with the logistics team
  • Be responsible for laboratory organization and adherence of users to laboratory rules
  • Monitor and manage alarm and warning systems on laboratory equipment
  • Liaise with the maintenance team in case of equipment or system failure
  • Establish, implement, and review procedures related to laboratory safety
  • Hold responsibility of Laboratory Document Control
  • Ensure laboratories are clean/sanitized and kept in an orderly manner
  • Provide training to newcomers regarding lab rules and organization
  • Foresee and determine operational difficulties in a timely manner
  • Act as single point-of-contact with technical support and logistic functions to address operational difficulties
  • Ensure laboratories are ready to welcome new external visitors
  • Lead continuous improvement projects related to lab safety and efficiency

In this role you will support our team in developing iPSC-based cell therapy platforms by:

  • Orchestrating the set-up and organization of labs according to needs of different teams
  • Carrying out routine lab maintenance tasks
  • Improving strategies related to laboratory safety, quality, ergonomics, and efficienc
