Description:
Gannon Eco Limited is an award winning company and is one of Ireland leading environmental solution provider. For our site in Kilbeggan we are seeking a hands-on Lab Manager. You will be responsible for Co-ordinating and managing the lab staff in the mineral processing testing and research activities on site. Your role plays a crucial part in developing methods and procedures for testing and reporting, conducting customer test work, and working on R&D projects in the field of Mineral Processing.
Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
Perform analytical testing to support Development and Technology projects. Support development projects, primarily with respect to analytical testing, to ensure the development of robust new products. Support technology and continuous improvement projects, primarily with respect to analytical testing, and to support existing commercial products.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, manage, train and develop the QC team ensuring they operate in a safe manner and to documented SOP.
- Prepare, test and analyze samples of matter to identify its individual components and write reports.
- Overall ownership and responsibility of the development & delivery of the Lab finances within budget.
- Responsible for procurement of Lab equipment, consumables and services.
- Day to day responsibility for the laboratory activity and equipment maintenance.
- Responsible for the efficient implementation of approved sampling plans for finished goods.
- Apply scientific techniques to sample testing.
- Explore potential uses for substances in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and agricultural.
- Maintain detailed laboratory records that explain testing techniques and findings.
- Conduct evidence-based research.
- Develop reports on lab findings and prepare research for publication where warranted.
- Support the validation of analytical testing methods of materials at Gannon eco.
- Represent Technical Operations group in internal and external (vendor) meetings and teleconferences in a positive, collaborative manner.
- Contribute to the review of company policies and procedures.
- Undertake any other duties, which may be assigned by Senior Management.
