JOB DESCRIPTION

Barrington James is delighted to be partnering with our client based in Glenrothes, who specializes in leveraging innovation and technology to derive new materials from natural resources.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking two enthusiastic QC Laboratory Technicians to join our clients team in Glenrothes on a full-time basis. The selected candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality and safety by:

  • Conducting tests on in-process and final products, including pH, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), protein content, moisture, ash, suspended solids, and total viable count measurements.
  • Performing equipment validation and calibration.
  • Managing data entry and conducting analysis.
  • Maintaining quality documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports on Non-Conformance, and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
  • Preparing inoculum for the fermentation process.
  • Carrying out environmental testing to ensure compliance and enhance plant and process safety standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Microbiology, or Chemistry, along with:

  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Proficient laboratory, quality control, and analytical skills, including statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Experience with microbiological testing and fermentation processes will be highly valued.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
