Description:

Labor Relations Manager
Reports to: Head of Labor Relations, EH&S, and Security
Location: Greeley, CO, USA
We’re looking for a Labor Relations Manager to support our human resources team by assisting with union contract negotiations, labor policy research, grievance processing, and workplace culture initiatives. As a specialist, you’ll work side-by-side with HR Directors to help interpret labor laws and contracts, sit in on collective bargaining meetings, investigate compliance issues, and create presentations on labor data. It’s a great opportunity to learn the foundations of organizational relations, personnel management, and collective bargaining if you’re passionate about labor relations, negotiations, and business. This role will be part of a focused development program to become future senior leaders in labor relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required with some experience or focus area of study related to labor relations and/or union management.
  • Detailed oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Service-oriented with demonstrated abilities to be a strategic business partner.
  • Analytical and disciplined with strong costing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Possesses an advanced-level of ability to comprehend, review and implement regulatory HR requirements.
  • MBA or Juris Doctorate preferred.
  • Must be able to work in manufacturing and other operations facilities, work irregular hours and travel 50-70% of the time.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $80,000-$110,000; and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;

Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate HR policies and procedures
  • Support HR and operations leaders in understanding contracts, addressing employee discipline issues, grievances, labor relations, investigations, training, and wage and hour policies
  • Provide guidance on laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards
  • Respond to alleged violations of laws, regulations, and policies
  • Help develop and execute labor strategy
  • Participate in collective bargaining negotiations with 20+ unions representing 20,000+ employees nationwide
  • Track union agreements, union leadership, and key company data
  • Monitor economic, industry, and employment trends
  • Help support and build cost models for contract negotiations
  • Participate in the development of positive employee relations programs
  • Travel 50% - 80% of the time
  • Other duties as assigned
