Responsibilities:

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Routine receipting and processing of specimens; including operation and maintenance of analysers
  • Pre and post analytical specimen handling
  • Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
  • Filing and storage of specimens and data entry
  • Assisting Scientists in the Lab as required
  • Continuous learning of processing requirements of different types of samples for different tests
  • Staying up to date with processing updates
  • Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries
  • Identifying and resolving problems on at the pre-analytic stage
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with Departmental and Organisational policies and procedures
  • Participate in departmental continuing education program/s
  • Manage shared mailboxes as required
  • As directed, perform, unpack and maintain stock inventory to ensure continuity of testing and service provisions
  • Where directed, and as appropriate with knowledge and experience, assist in training of other staff and facilitate training of new staff
