Responsibilities:
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Supervise a small laboratory with two other medical scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation/Blood Bank)
- This role is hands on, and you will be required to perform some laboratory work as part of your duties.
- Prioritise work- flow to meet client’s requirements
- Ensure results are released within agreed turnaround times
- Liaise with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, all scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required
- Review and update all laboratory documentation as required
