We are currently seeking a Laboratory (Production) Supervisor at our Guelph production facilities. This role is essential in supporting and monitoring the laboratory production team with a focus on achieving efficiency and quality standards for our recently expanded production facility. In addition, as a people leader, this role is also responsible for the continued development of the laboratory team. As an asset, your passion and experience in the dairy or beef industry will assist you in this role.

What you will do:

  • Production planning and scheduling.
  • Daily coordination of staff and tasks.
  • Monitoring of laboratory performance against KPI.
  • Actively involved in hiring and onboarding of new employees.
  • Investigate & troubleshoot production related issues.
  • Ensure laboratory inventory is maintained.
  • Provide opportunities for employee development.
  • Evaluate team and individual performance.
  • Be flexible with afternoon shift schedule.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology or a related field.
  • Must have 2-3 years previous experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a laboratory production environment is preferred.
  • Aptitude with laboratory equipment and machinery
  • Strong project and people management skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication & collaboration skills.
  • Previous experience using ERP systems is an asset.
