Description:

Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Field Laboratory Sampling Technician, to work a 1-year contract at a well-established integrated oil and natural gas company, in Christina Lake, AB. In this role, you will perform sampling tasks throughout the plant site, field and off-sites of varying matrixes to support critical and core analysis in support of the company’s operation, ensuring these samples are representative of the source.

  • Location: Christina Lake, AB |Transportation provided from various departure points including Air service from Edmonton and Calgary
  • Shifts: Rotating schedule |8 days on 6 days off | Fly in, Fly out

  • Support lab operation, safety and environmental systems
  • Support stakeholders on projects, R&D and operations optimization
  • Troubleshoot plant process/sampling issues
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable software and programs
  • Look for and lead efforts to improve processes and procedures as it relates to the position
  • Carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling
  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical analysis as requested/required in support of stakeholders and co-workers
  • Handle related data entry as needed
  • Perform sample login into SampleManager
  • Communicate with Operations on plant issues impacting sampling and safety
  • Ensure proper safety protocols are in place and in practice when performing duties
  • Identify issues that impact safety, environment and/or production
  • Report any safety issues that come up and help contribute to ideas for avoiding accidents and improving the overall safety at the Christina Lake facility
  • Handle shipping activities for Lab group, ensuring TDG requirements are met, proper labeling/cost coding is documented on COCs, etc.
  • Clean sampling containers (cylinders) to prevent contamination
  • Train new Field Lab Technicians on sampling protocols and procedures
  • Ensure proper communication and documentation occurs with cross shift (crossover notes, etc.) Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High School Education or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience working on a plant site in a Field Laboratory is a must
  • Must be Mechanically inclined
  • Should have a working knowledge of environmental field sampling, testing and related protocols
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and a clean driving record are required
  • A fast learner who responds well to new situations that require stretch and growth
  • Must have outstanding communications skills and uses effective listening skills
