The Faculty of Health provides high quality, innovative programs of teaching and learning, research and consulting and continuing professional education to clients of wide backgrounds, both nationally and internationally in a spectrum of disciplines. The School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation is based at the UTS facility in the Rugby Australia Building at Moore Park, where this position is located. This state-of-the-art centre, a first in the country, combines university programs with a premier sporting precinct.
Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Services Manager is accountable for the strategic support and advice, stakeholder management, critical problem solving and supervision of the overall operation of the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation laboratories. The incumbent leads the technical team and coordinates technical resources to support the teaching and research activities of the school.
Responsibilities include environment, health and safety (EH&S), risk mitigation and other regulatory compliance, laboratory supplies procurement, staff rostering and work-flow allocation, assurance and compliance of laboratory standards and equipment development, maintenance and repair, to ensure that the teaching and research needs of the discipline group are met efficiently and effectively, and within policies, rules and regulations.
The Laboratory Services Manager will have the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week during semester breaks, with the remaining days to be carried out on campus. It will be a requirement of the role to work fully on-campus during university sessions, and during research projects where technical support is required.
