Laboratory Technician

SUCCESS REQUIREMENTS:

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Ceramics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Science etc.) or a diploma of Laboratory Technology or Cert III or IV in Laboratory Technique.

• An understanding of ceramic chemistry (or a willingness to learn).
• Proficiency in mathematics and MS Excel.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• Highly organised and strong time management skills.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Conduct product testing and assessments in accordance with Australian Standard.

• Update and maintain records of test results.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Assist in the research and development of new products and stockpile improvement.
• Assist in the annual research and development tax claim.
• Research background literature.
• Assist in answering technical enquiries.
• Maintain high standard of housekeeping on and around the laboratory.
