SUMMARY
AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician C to join the Air Quality Monitoring Lab working out of our Calgary location. This is an entry level position, working under the Laboratory Supervisor to assist with laboratory tasks and reporting of data.
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or degree required
- 1+ years laboratory experience considered an asset
- Intermediate computer skills required
- Previous experience with ICP, GC/GCMS, spectrophotometry, microbalance and colorometry considered an asset
- Ability to work in a diligent manner in a pressured environment
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Mature work ethic
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Problem solving, communication, organization, and time managemen
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
- Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot instruments
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
- Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
- Report results
- Other duties as assigned

Work Environment: This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
