The Labour Relations Advisor assists the Labour Relations Specialists by providing background research and support for all labour relations matters including collective bargaining, grievances, arbitrations, labour board complaints, and related investigations.
The Labour Relations Advisor will also contribute to the long-term success of the business by ensuring that labour relations, strategies, policies and plans are effectively linked to the corporate vision, values and objectives.

What You Will Do:
- Provide a range of Labour Relations support and advice to a number of business units in a multi-union environment.
- Provide background research into labour relations issues and matters.
- As a collective bargaining team member provide support, advice and recommendations on all bargaining issues.
- Develop communication materials and process to educate senior managers and HR on the terms of the new collective agreement, including the interpretation and administration of the new agreements.
- Develop and facilitate the process to educate the line managers and HR Advisory with respect to corrective action, performance management, management rights and grievances/arbitration.
- Researches and helps develop labour relations policies.
- Participates in various initiatives/projects of the organization which impact operational efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Utilizes knowledge of applicable collective agreements, legislation, case law and policies/practices to provide support to clients.
Who You Are:
- Related University or College graduate with a major in Human Resources with minimum 4+ years of HR experience, preferably in Labour Relations. Consideration will be given for individuals with 2+ years of related experience.
- Experience in a unionized setting.
- Strong research skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to influence managers, union officials and government officials.
Working Conditions:
This role would involve some travel (10%-15%).
