Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Related post secondary educational, law, mining, real estate, real property management or technology (i.e. computer science, geology, information systems). Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • 2-6 years of experience working with land management platforms/databases, in a land/real property management or mining environment, an asset. Knowledge of Landfolio Land Solutions is considered an advantage.
  • Understanding of land management (private, public, mining) and a knowledge of legislation, regulation, policies, that govern the administration of land, including the ability to apply principles and practices related to management and administration of land, an asset.
  • Knowledge of the documentation processes related to the administration of public and private lands, including familiarity with title, permitting, agreements, including experience with online government tenure portals (Teraview, OnLand, AMIS, MLAS, IMAQs, GESTIM, BLM).
  • Proficiency in database management, design, and administration.
  • Proficiency and experience with GIS tools and software, and Microsoft Office applications. Understanding of ArcGIS, Acquire and Datamine, an asset.
  • Self-motivation and interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate, interact, and work within a dynamic and evolving environment, working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proven time management skills, including the ability to work under tight deadlines and with changing priorities. Attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Land Coordinator to assist with the implementation, integration and continued management of mining land and tenure (data and documentation) platform.
The Land & Tenure function at Alamos Gold provides administration, leadership, management, expertise, strategy and technical advice respecting all aspects of the Company’s land tenure, and its related interests, obligations, and regulatory compliance.
Reporting to the “Manager – Land & Tenure” and based in our downtown Toronto Corporate Head Office, the Land Coordinator will work closely with cross functional teams across the organization and be accountable for data/document migration, records creation, and inputting land and tenure specifications in support of the launch and ongoing maintenance, update, and optimization of a land management platform.
This role will play a pivotal function in ensuring access, accuracy, compliance, continuity, integration and flow of information amongst our organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the implementation and rollout of a land management platform, including introduction to the database, and encompassing continual maintenance, updates, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs, enabling access information, data, and mappings through configurable reporting, dashboard displays, document views/downloads, facilitating and fulfilling user requirements and business needs.
  • Expanding abilities to minimize now-manual/semi-manual processes, moving towards full automation (i.e. filings, renewals, applications, payments through online portals/SAP).
  • Ensure the completeness, currency, consistency, accuracy, and security of documentation and data. Maintaining accurate and detailed land spatial data within platform,
  • Work with GIS teams to ensure integration between the land and exploration databases and GIS systems. Otherwise, closely coordinate with GIS specialists to achieve this.
  • As administrator of the platform, create, update, and maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to database structures, processes, and workflows.
  • Provide support to users, including developing training materials and guides to assist users in leveraging the land database effectively.
  • Administers platform, supporting its management and sharing of land tenure information, overseeing the database and input of information, including record creation and updates, compiling information, documents, and maps, conducts file reviews, preparation of maps, reports and summaries for internal purposes;
  • Review and track records to ensure land and tenure good standing, including status of obligations (annual fees or taxes, expiries & renewals, permits), identifying and assisting with appropriate next steps to address/maintain; updating records to reflect currency of land and tenure and its good standing; assists with the administration of dispositions throughout their lifecycle.
  • Maintaining digital file directories/systems. Working alongside Company teams assisting with projects, due diligence and other corporate undertakings.
  • Assists with the provision of land administration information to internal ‘clients’ and management, and other entities, including government and compliance entities. Provides reports monthly, or as requested, and fulfils monthly, quarter-end and year-end tasks.
  • Resolve any issues related to database performance, access, or security either independently or with the assistance of developers.
