Description:

Wardell Armstrong is a successful award-winning multi-disciplinary consultancy with 13 offices throughout the UK employing approximately 500 staff including a team of 20 landscape architects. At the heart of our business lies a group of outstanding people delivering client-focused solutions to challenging problems across a range of sectors and we are always looking for creative and enthusiastic individuals to join our firm. Wardell Armstrong is a Landscape Institute Registered Practice and a member of the IEMA benchmark scheme for EIA.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Landscape Architect to grow and develop and team and stream of work in the Glasgow region and surrounding areas, with support existing highly successful and established Landscape teams in Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Leeds. Our ideal candidate will be ambitious, dynamic, engaging and an excellent communicator with hands-on experience of leading on the design and delivery of projects across all RIBA work stages, as well as excellent management experience and proven success in business development.
We are particularly looking for a candidate with a strong track record and experience of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments both as part of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and as non-EIA appraisals to support planning applications. We carry out assessments for a wide range of developments throughout the UK, including residential, commercial and industrial developments, renewable energy, infrastructure and minerals and waste developments. We believe that assessment and appraisal lead to good landscape led design and such projects may also lead to landscape masterplanning and detailed design. There is also the opportunity to work on some overseas mining projects for candidates with sufficient assessment experience.
Key tasks will involve being the main Client, project and design team contact across a range of exciting projects including renewables, infrastructure, education, masterplanning, healthcare, sport and leisure, residential and public realm projects. This is a great opportunity to develop and shape the landscape function in Scotland and manage the day to day running of projects with the support of an experienced environmental and planning team.
