    As the Landscape Design Manager for Property Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the outdoor spaces of large masterplan community projects, ensuring they align with the vision for sustainable, aesthetically pleasing, and functional environments. Working closely with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory authorities, you will lead the design and implementation of landscape strategies that enhance the overall appeal and marketability of our developments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Environmental Planning, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years+ of experience in landscape design, preferably in property development or real estate development contexts.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape architecture principles, horticulture, site planning, and construction techniques.
  • Familiarity with local planning regulations, environmental policies, and land use planning processes.
  • Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse stakeholders through visual presentations, written reports, and verbal discussions.
  • Leadership qualities, team-building abilities, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., AILA, AIA, ULI) and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a landscape architect (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Design: Lead the conceptualization, planning, and design of landscape elements for property development projects, including residential communities, commercial complexes, and public spaces. Collaborate with architects, urban planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate landscape design with overall project objectives.
  • Site Analysis and Assessment: Conduct thorough site analysis to understand site constraints, opportunities, and environmental considerations. Evaluate soil conditions, topography, climate, vegetation, and existing infrastructure to inform design decisions and ensure compatibility with project goals.
  • Design Development: Develop comprehensive landscape design concepts, master plans, and construction documentation that address site-specific requirements, user needs, and regulatory standards. Utilize sustainable design principles, native plantings, water-efficient irrigation systems, and green infrastructure solutions to enhance ecological resilience and minimize environmental impact.
  • Project Management: Oversee all phases of landscape design implementation, from procurement and contracting to construction administration and project closeout. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure quality control, cost efficiency, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal project teams, external consultants, government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals, permits, and entitlements. Communicate design concepts effectively through presentations, workshops, public meetings, and outreach efforts to solicit feedback and build consensus.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that landscape designs comply with local planning regulations, zoning ordinances, building codes, and sustainability standards. Conduct regular site inspections, quality assessments, and performance evaluations to verify compliance with design intent and project specifications.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial projections for landscape design elements. Monitor project expenditures, track budget variances, and identify cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability without compromising design integrity.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks, challenges, and constraints associated with landscape design implementation. Develop proactive risk management strategies, contingency plans, and mitigation measures to address unforeseen obstacles and ensure project success.
