QUALIFICIATON:

• Engineering Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or another related field.
• Good command of the English language both verbal and written.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:

• Knowledge of plants diseases and insects.
• Knowledge of plants fertilizers/ Nutrients etc.
• Knowledge of plants names, hardscape, masonry, carpentry, excavation, grading, drainage systems and sand dunes removals.
• Ability to effectively communicate, present information’s and respond to questions, both verbal and written.
• Ability to provide good customer satisfaction with good service.
• Productivity and cost associated with production, operation, maintenance of nursery facilities and produced plants.
• Ability to train subordinates.
• Extensive knowledge about botany, growing seasons and climate zones is essential.
• Ability to organize, multitask, prior planning and set out priorities with minimal supervision.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience in on cultivating and protecting trees and plants from diseases and insect infestations.
• Extensive knowledge of nursery plants such as palm trees, general trees, shrubs, climber, hedges, ground covers, and seasonal plants.
• Experience with plants pruning / sheering for grown plants at nursery or any landscape area.

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

Landscaping Engineer supports and coordinate all related activities in landscape plants nursery or assigned area. The incumbent interfaces with other departments and project staff- if anything needed. Responsible for managing and supervising rapidly growing plants in the nursery area.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the daily scheduling work routes to ensure all activities are organized in timely manner.
• Oversees and supervise all plants propagation areas manpower, tools and equipment’s are using in proper manner.
• Ensures that all propagation tools are sterilized properly prior to start propagation.
• Ensures to coordinate with his foreman’s and leadsmen for daily Nursery activities
• Ensure to maintain and repairs tools, equipment’s and structure, such shade house, green house, fences and propagation area desk and benches.
• Ensures that all hand or power tolls are using as per safety procedure and the operator always wearing PPE.
• Ensure that subordinates such as Foreman and Lead Man are properly maintaining the nursery plants- pruning, hedging, trimming, weeding, and cleaning.
• Ensure that all automated Irrigation systems are working properly and getting water all area without any dry area.
• Ensure that all nursery growing plants without any insect/fungus or any type of nematodes attack.
• Ensure that all palms are free of red palm weevil or any type of insecticide attach.
• Ensure proper and adequate supervision of all nursery plumber/irrigation man/ operators/ gardeners/labours and ensure proper completion of given task.
• Provide horticultural improvements to nursery.
• Develops and maintains excellent customer services for buying plants from nursery outlet.
