Description:

Overview: As a Landscape and Garden Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of outdoor spaces, including gardens, parks, urban landscapes, and green infrastructure projects. You will leverage your engineering expertise to ensure that designs are not only visually appealing but also structurally sound, environmentally sustainable, and functional. Working in collaboration with landscape architects, horticulturists, contractors, and clients, you will contribute to the creation of attractive and resilient landscapes that enhance the quality of life for communities and individuals

Responsibilities:

Site Analysis and Planning: Conduct comprehensive site assessments to evaluate topography, soil conditions, drainage patterns, existing vegetation, and other site-specific factors that may influence design decisions.
Design Development: Collaborate with landscape architects and designers to develop innovative and functional landscape designs that integrate engineering solutions, such as grading, drainage systems, irrigation, and erosion control measures.
Structural Design: Apply engineering principles to design and specify structural elements within the landscape, including retaining walls, pathways, pavements, decks, bridges, and other features, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Sustainable Practices: Integrate sustainable design strategies into projects, such as rainwater harvesting, green roofs, permeable paving, and native plantings, to enhance ecological resilience and minimize environmental impact.
Construction Oversight: Provide technical expertise and guidance during the construction phase to ensure that designs are implemented accurately, safely, and within budget, addressing any engineering-related challenges that may arise.
Material Selection: Specify appropriate materials for landscape construction based on durability, aesthetics, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness, and oversee their procurement and installation.
Irrigation Systems: Design efficient irrigation systems tailored to the specific needs of each project, incorporating water-saving technologies, such as drip irrigation, smart controllers, and soil moisture sensors.
Project Management: Coordinate with project teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
Maintenance Planning: Develop maintenance plans and guidelines to preserve the integrity and functionality of completed landscapes, including plant care, irrigation system maintenance, pest management, and seasonal upkeep.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in landscape engineering, horticulture, and sustainable design, and apply this knowledge to enhance the quality and innovation of projects.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s or masters degree in landscape architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales/ account management - Agriculture, Landscaping, Construction & Garden Management. UAE experience preferred.
  • Candidates with Multi-Language ( English, Hindi, Arabic) capabilities will be given preference.
  • Strong design and technical skills, with proficiency in CAD software, engineering analysis tools, and project management software.
  • Knowledge of landscape construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing landscape and site development.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions.
  • Previous experience in landscape engineering, civil engineering, or related fields is advantageous
