Late Stage Arrears Officer

As a Late Stage Arrears Officer, you will be responsible for managing lending portfolios that are in late stage arrears to litigation stage with their mortgages. Your role involves coordinating arrangements, communicating directly with third-party authorities, solicitors, and legal representatives and playing a pivotal role in negotiating mutually beneficial resolutions to reduce negative impacts on the borrower and organisation.

• End to end managing a portfolio of retail customers who are in late stage arrears to litigation stage with their mortgages
• Authorising and overseeing legal proceedings from the point of Default Notice issuance up until the receipt of possession of the security
• Liaising and engaging directly with legal representatives where legal proceedings are underway.
• Working closely with our internal Legal Team where a dispute is underway including strategy formulation and resolution proposals
• Direct management of high-risk and high value lending groups where reputation and shortfall risks have been identified
• Negotiating mutually beneficial resolutions to reduce negative impacts on both the borrower and the financial institution
• Working with authorised external parties to resolve disputes or inquiries e.g.: litigators, solicitors, insolvency practitioners, and financial counsellors
