Description:

  • DESCRIPTION:The camp is located on the shores of beautiful Lac de L’achigan in Saint-Hippolyte. We are an English summer camp that welcomes about 100 young people from 6 to 17 years old. The majority of our campers are followed in youth protection. Camp Weredale offers these young people a safe and beautiful environment in which they can be close to nature, create lifelong friendships and hopefully begin to heal.RESPONSIBLE TO:One of two Assistant DirectorsRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To participate in pertinent aspects of pre-camp training and orientation.
  • To play an active role in promoting a positive and constructive camp environment.
  • To receive camper’s, kitchen and health center items to be washed and dried each day and then to sort and prepare clean laundry for pick up.
  • To be responsible for the distribution and organization of games, toys and sports equipment.
  • To record the arrival and departure of visitors on the site.
  • To perform light clerical duties.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings;
  • Meet at least twice during the summer with the camp directors for formal evaluations;
  • Prepare a year-end report with recommendations for the following season.REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have the ability to work in an organized manner.
  • Must recognize the importance of safety.
  • Must have the ability to relate to children.
  • Must be comfortable in, and respectful of, a group living environment.
  • Must be punctual and capable of respecting a camp preset schedule.
  • Must be capable of respecting confidentially regarding camper medical, behavioural issues and family history.SALARY OFFERED:To be discussed based on experienceEMPLOYMENT STATUS:Summer, full-time, day, evening, weekend.
