As a Law Graduate, you will have the opportunity to rotate through different teams across RAA’s Governance & Risk team. During these rotations, you will get the opportunity to develop your skills through practical, hands-on, and strategic legal activities such as (but not limited to):

  • Support Business Units with negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts.
  • Assist Managers to identify legal matters and provide education as to effective and efficient ways to manage those risks or issues and resulting costs.
  • Provide compliance and regulatory advice to the Business Units, including assistance in the management of relationships with regulators.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures for the managing of legal risk, issues and contracts
  • Monitor and update Group on changes to key legislation or regulatory requirements
  • Assist the Risk & Compliance Business Unit to ensure compliance with legal requirements of the organisation, including insurance policy documentation

For this role, we’re also looking for:

  • Currently studying a bachelor’s degree in law, due to complete in 2024 or completed in 2023.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to influence others
  • Admitted or soon to be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in SA
  • If a recent graduate, must have a high academic achievement (minimum GPA 5.0 or credit average)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a commitment to openness and transparency.
  • Teamwork demonstrated through extracurricular activities (e.g. sports, clubs, work, societies)
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Results orientated and continually searching for ways to add value and achieve value.
  • Passion for learning and self-improvement.
