We represent one of Australia’s most pre-eminent national law firms, who is looking for an experienced lawyer to join their Brisbane Native Title team.
REQUIREMENTS
They are looking for a candidate who has between one to four years post admission experience with a good understanding of native title and cultural heritage legislation.
In addition, you will:
- Be comfortable working closely with clients and Traditional Owners.
- Address novel legal issues with interest.
- Juggle multiple matters and prioritise effectively.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Travel when necessary for meetings or on-country court appearances.
Responsibilities:
They are seeking a lawyer with a genuine passion to practice in this area to join the Brisbane team.
In this role, you will work on matters including:
- Provide legal advice on legislative requirements and compliance options for native title and cultural heritage.
- Participate in Federal court-convened mediations and case management hearings.
- Conduct due diligence and assessment advice.
- Draft and assist with negotiations of indigenous land use agreements and cultural heritage agreements.
