    We represent one of Australia’s most pre-eminent national law firms, who is looking for an experienced lawyer to join their Brisbane Native Title team.

REQUIREMENTS

They are looking for a candidate who has between one to four years post admission experience with a good understanding of native title and cultural heritage legislation.

In addition, you will:

  • Be comfortable working closely with clients and Traditional Owners.
  • Address novel legal issues with interest.
  • Juggle multiple matters and prioritise effectively.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Travel when necessary for meetings or on-country court appearances.

Responsibilities:

They are seeking a lawyer with a genuine passion to practice in this area to join the Brisbane team.

In this role, you will work on matters including:

  • Provide legal advice on legislative requirements and compliance options for native title and cultural heritage.
  • Participate in Federal court-convened mediations and case management hearings.
  • Conduct due diligence and assessment advice.
  • Draft and assist with negotiations of indigenous land use agreements and cultural heritage agreements.
