Plaza Retail REIT is a real estate developer, owner and manager operating primarily in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime provinces, specializing in leasing to various retail businesses. Plaza’s real estate portfolio includes interests in over 230 properties totalling approximately 8.8 million square feet in Canada. Plaza’s properties include small-format retail centers as well as shopping centers 91% leased to national tenants.
The lawyer will work closely with our dynamic and professional legal team, currently in-person at least three (3) days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) at its offices in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs, the lawyer will be responsible for providing full legal support to Plaza Retail REIT and will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating various commercial and corporate real estate contracts including leases, amendments and offers to purchase, ensuring that the company’s interests are protected.
Qualifications
- At least seven (7) years’ experience as a lawyer in the field of real estate law;
- Member of the Quebec Bar;
- Juris Docteur (JD) in Common Law preferred;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively both independently and as part of a team; and
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office (in particular Outlook, Word and Excel).
