Responsibilities:
- To manage the conduct of operational policing enquiries to include applications for civil orders before the Courts, the various licensing regimes, data protection legislation proceeds of crime and human rights compliance.
- To establish and develop working relationships with other legal professionals employed by other Police Forces and external bodies, to include participation in the work of the Association of Police Lawyers.
- To manage the conduct of civil claims and all other cases (including Employment Tribunal, Inquest, Judicial Review) issued against the Chief Constable and on behalf of the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner, to include the management of caseload, investigation, research, interviewing witnesses and other appropriate individuals, drafting statements of case and pleadings, determining liability, advocacy and providing representation at Court, selecting, appointing and instructing external Counsel and reporting to Chief Officers and the Insurer.
