Description:

Are you a lawyer looking for a role where you have more control your hours, your commute is more relaxing, your opportunities are more dynamic, and your career growth is unlimited.
REAL-R is looking for a real estate/solicitor based lawyer for our Carstairs firm. We are looking for a lawyer to work in our small firm who either might want a comfortable work-life balance or the opportunity to grow their practice.
This role can be full or part time. Depending on the type of files you are working on, the practice can also be partially remote.
The firm has a large breath of clients for the successful candidate to start with while, should they choose, they can work to build a fuller practice within the community.
We have a very collegial office with experienced and dedicated support staff that are great to work with.
Carstairs is only 30 minutes north from Calgary and if you are Calgary based, you would be travelling opposite direction of rush hour traffic. It is also a wonderful, smaller, more affordable community to relocate to and enjoy the pleasures of small town Alberta.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and workload.

Requirements:

  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
  • A law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum one year experience in real estate, specifically focused residential purchases and sales. Bonus if you have experience with agricultural land transactions.
  • Experience in the areas of wills & estates, trusts and/or corporate law is also a strong asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Pride in ethical and professional conduct.
  • Willingness to travel or live and work in a more rural community
