Working closely with the Partners, the position involves providing insurance and government clients with relevant legal advice regarding complex casualty and liability matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working for high-profile clients on insurance matters involving general insurance and liability
- Managing a wide portfolio of personal injury and property liability claims including: -
- Managing public and product liability claims in the pre-court proceedings process and litigation
- Advising on policy coverage issues, limitation, liability, causation, quantum, reserves, and strategy
- Liaising with witnesses and preparing statements
- Preparing and reviewing discovered documents and evidence
- Engaging with independent experts, counsel, opposing lawyers and mediators
- Drafting court documents, settlement deeds and medical panel referrals
- Appearing at court, conferences, and mediations
- Preparing briefs and instructing counsel during court hearings, mediations and conferences
- Working in partnership with senior practitioners and other team members
- Delegating work and providing instructions to lawyers, paralegals, graduates and administrative support
- Mentoring and coaching lawyers to assist with their development
- Assisting graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotations
- Retaining and building business
