Description:

The Lead Specialty ACP for Acute Medicine is a vital member of the senior leadership team, responsible for providing expert advice, clinical expertise, clinical leadership, and support to medical, nursing, and allied health professional teams. This role involves Advanced Practice service development, guidance, and motivation, as well as operational oversight of the existing ACP workforce and Medical Assistant Practitioner (MAP) workforce within Acute Medicine. The Lead ACP plays a key role in the strategic development of advanced level practice at local, divisional, and partnership levels. Furthermore, they work alongside the MAP Committee and the unit’s senior leadership team to support and develop the entire acute medical and non-medical workforce.
The post holder practices as a senior non-medical clinician within Acute Medicine, working independently and autonomously across the Acute Medical Unit. This includes seeing undifferentiated patients with undiagnosed problems with no supervision. The role involves a 60% direct clinical component (DCC) and 40% related to management, leadership, innovation, and educational responsibilities (SPA)
