ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a Lead Android Engineer with excellent collaboration skills, a knack for innovation, and the ability to inspire the team, along with the following experience:

• Relevant IT industry experience in a Tech Lead role with technical expertise in native Android Mobile development and a strong appetite to think across iOS & back-end services (Spring Boot Java experience also desirable).
• Ability to work on architectural decisions for new features and lead or facilitate discussion on solution designs.
• Extensive experience designing and developing mobile applications, aiming for high standards for security, testability, and ability to make changes easily.
• Experience in continuous integration pipelines including test automation (further, continuous delivery experience is advantageous)
• Proven experience in business and IT relationship management; working in/with matrix structures and influencing senior business and technology leaders.

We are actively seeking a Lead Android Engineer to become part of our Technology & Operations Mobile Technology & Design team. In this position, you will be responsible for shaping the Android technical roadmap within the Mobile team, exerting influence on business stakeholders, architecture teams, and program managers to ensure a well-crafted implementation from the start.
Your role involves actively contributing to the support framework for Mobile Apps, ensuring operational resilience, and actively participating in the identification of tools and best practices to enhance our development processes. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers, helping them grow.
This is a full-time, permanent role that is open to Sydney, Australia or Auckland New Zealand and involves a hybrid work model.
