LEAD BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST

Our Business Intelligence team at Rapid7 is looking for a highly motivated Lead Analyst to drive insights and recommendations for key business stakeholders across our functional areas. This role will be accountable for providing accurate, timely and high-impact data solutions and BI content to executive leadership, operating groups and management teams to support data-driven decision making and improve operational efficiency.

THE SKILLS YOU’LL BRING INCLUDE:

  • 8+ years working on business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics teams with a track record of delivering impactful high-quality datasets, analyses, and reporting tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL with demonstrable experience interpreting large datasets according to business logic (experience with dbt a plus)
  • Highly skilled in crafting robust data architectures and designing analytical data sources to support business intelligence and decision-making processes
  • Experienced in implementing rigorous testing methodologies to ensure data quality and consistency, with a focus on reconciling to sources of truth
  • Proficient in engaging stakeholders from various business units, ensuring alignment of business intelligence models and tools with strategic objectives and user requirements
  • Proven ability to create intuitive and insightful BI products within tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or MSFT Power BI
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, utilizing data to tell a story
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite, Salesforce.com, or similar CRM/ERP system
  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for data, data quality & business analytics
  • Fast learner with an appetite for continued improvement

ABOUT THE ROLE

Additionally, responsibilities include designing and implementing testing strategies for maintaining high-quality data. As a senior team member, mentorship for junior colleagues is integral, with potential to lead a local team as we expand. The ideal candidate combines technical proficiency, business insight, and adeptness in fostering interdepartmental partnerships.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Develop a deep understanding of diverse data sources and business processes to enhance foundational sources of key business metrics.
  • Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and implement scalable BI tools and datasets for strategic decision-making.
  • Lead architecture and design of robust source-of-truth solutions for enhanced data accessibility.
  • Establish and oversee processes to improve data quality and governance across Tableau and Snowflake environments.
  • Drive ongoing system and process enhancements for efficient data capture and reporting tool performance.
  • Support finalization of data models and reporting for quarterly financial reporting on metrics like Annualized Run Rate, Bookings, and Customers.
